| Setup Wizard - Set DNS Servers |
| Item | Description |
| Instructions Window
| Displays the instructions for each step in the setup process. |
| DNS Server 1 | Primary DNS Server. This is
the first DNS Server that SpamX will use when performing lookups of Domain Names and IP
addresses. Click the down arrow on the list to the right of the text to drop down a list of
available DNS servers. It is highly recommended to chose one of the servers marked
'[local]' as the primary DNS server. |
| DNS Server 2 | Secondary DNS Server. This is
the backup DNS Server that SpamX will use if the primary DNS server fails to return data.
Click the doen arrow on the list to the right of the text to drop down a list of
available DNS servers. The Secondary DNS Server must be different from the Primary. |
| Cache entries expire in | Sete the length of time
DNS lookups are held in the local Cache.
The available values are: 36 Hrs, 72 Hrs, 5 Days and 2 Weeks. Longer expiration times
speed up lookups when parsing and reporting spam but may yield incorrect values if the values on
the DNS servers change. 5 days seems to be a good compromise in practice and is the default
value. |
